American Whiskey - Rye
The US is the spiritual heartland of Bourbon and rye whiskey, popularised around the world by classic cocktails from the Old Fashioned to the Manhattan.
This 100% straight rye whiskey is distilled in Alberta, Canada where it’s initially aged in new American oak barrels. The whiskey is then transported south to the Whistlepig Farm in Vermont where it continues to age further, for up to 10 years, developing notes of warming rye spice and sweet caramel.
Serving Suggestions: Delicious neat or in a Maple Old Fashioned with the sugar substituted for maple syrup – a true taste of Canada!
A warming aroma of fresh doughnuts and chocolate chip cookie dough, smothered in vanilla ice cream and a thick butterscotch sauce. On the palate it’s bready and peppery, with more sugar-dusted doughnuts filled with raspberry jam. Warm baking spices of clove and pepper build into the mid-palate as it ends on notes of liquorice and burnt caramels.
