Scotch Whisky - Single Malt
Despite its reputation as a somewhat traditional spirit, Scotch whisky offers incredible diversity of flavour, with single malts and blends ranging from elegant, floral expressions to rich, fruity and chocolatey drams.
This monster of a whisky, produced at Speyside’s Benromach distillery, is an intensely fruity, chocolatey and luscious single malt wrapped in a cloak of gentle smoke. Matured in a combination of first-fill Bourbon and Sherry casks, there’s layer upon layer of forest fruits and dark chocolate – an absolute treat of a whisky.
Serving Suggestions: Enjoy neat or mix into a Rob Roy. Stir 50ml Benromach 15 Year Old with 25ml sweet vermouth and one dash of Angostura bitters over ice, then strain into a chilled glass and garnish with a cherry and lemon twist.
Tasting Notes
Big and bold with bundles of dried fruits like figs, prunes and raisins with a generous helping of sticky toffee pudding, milk chocolate and a touch of leather. On the palate it’s bigger still, now with a decadent, cherry-chocolate laden Black Forest gateaux, sticky Jamaican ginger cake, crushed nuts and a puff of bonfire smoke. Beautifully balanced and indulgent.
