Machrie Moor is a peated single malt produced on the Isle of Arran at Lochranza distillery, featuring all the fruitiness of the site’s signature spirit with a puff of smoke. This sweet yet rugged whisky is named after the windswept peat bog on the west coast of the island where, legend has it, the warrior giant Fingal kept his pet dog.
Serving Suggestions: Serve this one neat or over ice.
Tasting Notes
On the nose there’s indulgent toffee, and tarte tatin, with chocolate-coated nuts and marshmallows toasted over a roaring fire. The fruits assume control on the palate, with juicy, tropical pineapple, green apples, pears and lemon candy, wrapped in a waft of dried grass and a lick of meaty smoke.
